Typically, when air pressure is high, then skies are clear and blue, and the weather is good.

Low pressure causes warm air to flow upward, where it converges, rising, cooling, and forming clouds, because there is more chance of condensation.

High pressure causes air to flow down and to warm up, preventing clouds from forming, because there is less chance of condensation.

When air pressure is low, remember to bring an umbrella with you, because clouds might cause rain or other types of precipitation.

Wind: The air will blow from high to low

COLD AIR->MORE DENSE->HEAVY->HIGH PRESSURE->SINK (FLOW DOWN) -> WARM AIR->LESS DENSE -> LIGHT-> RISE (FLOW UPWARD)->LOW PRESSURE

Wind is a mass of air moving horizontally from a high pressure-area to a low-pressure area.

Wind is caused by changes in air pressure.Air pressure is affected by: temperature, height above sea level, and amount of water vapor.In a convection cell, hot air rises and moves out to sea and cold air sinks and movies over land.

Fill in the gaps with the words in the box.Dense air ……... and less dense air ……. ! The pattern of rising and falling air is called a ……….. cell! In a convection cell, the air over the sea ……….. and sinks: that's a ………… . At the same time, the air over the land gets warmer and rises: that's a UPDRAFT. The cool high pressure air moves towards the land and heats up replacing the warm air, and warm low pressure air moves out to sea and cools, replacing the cool air: THE ……….. OF THE AIR CAUSE WIND.

1-What is the role of air pressure in the weather conditions? - its force determines the strenght of wind - it creates downdrafs that blow from the shore - it the primary cause of trade winds - its determines how high or low the tide is 2-The mass of the wind depend on ... - barometric pressure- air molecules- air pressure- the convection cell3-Which are three elements of air pressure?- wind, Earth's distance from the Moon, and clouds- amount of plants, wind, and level of weather in the ocean - height above sea level temprature, and amount of water vapor - temperature, wind, and how much plant or animal lifeis around

4- What is a convection cell? - extremly dense and heavy masses of air - a place on the beach where scientist watch weather - an istruments scientist use to measure wind speeds - a pattern of rising warm air and senting cold air 5- Why does air rise over land at the beach?- cold air gets warmer over land, which mates it lighter, so it rises-Warm air over the sea moves in land gets cooler, and them rises- trad wind around the Equator blow the air higher at the beach - land is cooler them water at the beach, so the air repels awey from it
