The thermosphere is the fourth of five layers of the Earth's atmosphere. It is between mesosphere and exosphere, and ranges from 85 km to 690 km around.“Therm” means heat. There is a great range of hot to cold temperatures: - 112° to 2000° near the exosphere. It is the layer where space shuttles orbit and where we see beautiful Aurora Borealis.
The stratosphere is the second of the five layers of the atmosphere, between troposphere and mesosphere. It is very important, because ozone is in the stratosphere and protect us from UV rays.
EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE HAS FIVE LAYERS: TROPOSPHERE, STRATOSPHERE, MESOSPHERE, THERMOSPHERE AND EXOSPHERE. EACH LAYER HAS A DIFFERENT TEMPERATURE, SIZE AND HEIGHT ABOVE SEA LEVEL.
The mesosphere is the third of the five layers ot Earth's atmosphere. "Meso" means middle: it's the middle layer between the stratosphere and the thermosphere. It is the layer of atmosphere where we can see meteors. The air temperature decreases (approximately -143 ° C).
“Exo" means outer. So Earth's exosphere is the outer layer of the atmosphere. Extends into space.
The troposphere is the last layer and closest to Earth: we are in it! The air here is made of Oxigen (21%) and Nitrogen (78%). Weather occurs in the troposphere. Clouds in the troposphere block the heat of the sun during the day and keep it in at night.
