About My Project

About My Project

Being aware and feeling afraid of the alarming increase of school dropouts among teenagers, I 've come up with this project to know the reasons behind this . Giving the students a say to tell us how they see that problem and analysing the reasons , we will together find some solutions that won't ,maybe, put an end to the problem but at least reduce it . Students and teachers will tackle the problems and fix them by them for them.

Language used: Mainly English.

-become more responsible of their own leraning. -develop critical thinking as they'll analyse the problems and try to solve them. -acquire the skills of probelm shooting and solving. -be trained to give feedback and accept critique. -build up team work , collborative annd negociating skills.

The project will

-give the students the opportunity to work on the 4 skills in their acquisition of the language -enhance ICT skills in both learning and teaching.

-equip teachers with new motivating teaching techniques-be used as a way to teach the curriculum as School Life is a whole orat in te students curriculum.

-boost the students' motivation to learn while solving problems related to his/her learning problems.-build the students' confidence in using the English language.

Part 1: Getting to know you and Brainstorming -How much do you know about me?:Kahoot and then Padlet (Students and teacher partners introduce each other. -Logo creation: Tricider (Votes) -What's wrong? (at our schools and with our learning) Quizzes/ Videos interviewing their schoolmates , taking pictures (Kizoa /Twinspace for sharing) Part 2: Brighter thoughts: -Selecting the problems to be tackled : Video Conference : Google docs/ Coggle to make the final list of problems -Suggesting ideas to do so by exchanging ideas/ see how much the solutions proposed fit in the different school contexts / sharing via Twinspace / -Exchanging solutions -Creativity: Writing stories (using Pixton/Storyjumper..) /writing about school memories Par 3: Our final say. The last part: Students finalize their work / disppalying it in differnt formas: online magazine with the different activities they've been doing during their work/ posters : displaying the whys and the hows to solve some school problems on one hand and others displaying the Whys and the Hows school is a wonderful place to be/ sharing their videos videos

Expected results and Inpact.

-Higher awareness among the participants -Becoming more sel-reliant and more responsible for own learning -Acquiring the feeling of becoming a global citizen dealing with global issues. -Being more at ease with the use of ICT in class and outside it. -The project is a tool for teaching the curriculum.

-Being Formative, the teachers will give a regular feedback on the students performances via the Project Blog, Twinspace and the interaction there... -Teachers may even assign some Awards fror the best peice of writing, video, poster after voting for it.

-Teacehers will keep a record of the students progress throught the project. -The evaluation will be mainly formative -Teacher will check the students' progress in the 4 skils : -

• Reading/ Writing : checking any input the studebnts' will share on the Twinspace, padlets, texts written for the videos, the stories, the posters...
